Unlock Cooler, Cleaner Airflow with the STILLEN Cold Air Intake Scoop for Your Silverado 1500
STILLEN is proud to announce the launch of the TruPower by STILLEN Cold Air Intake Scoop for the 2019 and newer Chevrolet Silverado 1500 — a direct-fit cold air intake scoop engineered to deliver cooler, denser intake air for real performance potential. To show exactly how this Silverado 1500 intake scoop works and why it matters, the STILLEN team put together a series of videos walking through its features and benefits.
The factory air intake system on the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a clever piece of engineering. During development, STILLEN's engineers mapped the entire engine bay with temperature probes, checking every access panel and airflow path to find the coldest possible air source for the intake system.

What they found is that Chevrolet's engineers had already done a great job locating a strong source of fresh, ambient air. Repositioning the intake wouldn't have improved much, so the STILLEN design team shifted focus: instead of relocating the intake, how could the airflow path itself be improved to unlock additional intake air temperature gains?

That's when the team identified the real issue. The path the air took to reach the intake was solid in concept but surprisingly disruptive in practice. Air had to pass through the grille, travel up the face of the radiator, filter through the lattice work of the radiator shroud, route around the shroud itself, and only then finally reach the intake scoop.
This created two distinct problems:
1) There is no clean, natural airflow path. Every turbulent section — every twist, turn, and obstruction — adds restriction and forces the engine to work harder to pull in air. The goal of any cold air intake system is to move air into the engine as cleanly and efficiently as possible, and the factory path simply wasn't built for that.
2) The intake air is exposed to radiator heat. Air traveling up the face of the radiator runs directly through one of the hottest zones in the engine bay. Radiator operating temperatures run 180–220°F — significantly higher than ambient air temperature. The hotter the intake air, the less dense it is, and the less potential power it carries into the combustion chamber.

To solve both problems without compromising the Silverado's airflow, STILLEN's design team engineered a proper intake scoop. The TruPower by STILLEN cold air intake scoop lowers the base of the radiator shroud so it sits flush with the top bar of the Silverado's signature grille. This redesign lets air flow directly into the intake system without ever touching the radiator or fighting through the shroud's lattice structure — eliminating both the heat soak and the turbulence found in the factory setup.
Interestingly, during development the STILLEN team noticed that Chevrolet's own ¾-ton and 1-ton trucks already use a similar scoop design in their factory radiator shrouds — confirmation that the TruPower by STILLEN cold air intake scoop for the Chevy Silverado was solving the problem the right way.
Because it's built around the factory intake opening, the TruPower scoop also works seamlessly with virtually any aftermarket cold air intake system or supercharger kit that uses the stock intake scoop location, making it one of the easiest ways to upgrade airflow on a Silverado 1500 or GMC Sierra 1500 without reworking your entire intake setup.
