One of the notorious issues of the 15+ WRX and its turbo four is that it's especially sensitive. Some early intakes would often set CELs, or worse, cause the engine to operate with an unsafe Air-Fuel-Ratio. This particular generation of WRX has a reputation for blowing up if you look at it funny, so it's worth saying that 2+ years and tens of thousands of miles later, this intake is still performing well for several WRX drivers on our staff who have had this intake equipped since release.

The factory engine mapping produces a noticeable drop in power at around 4,500 RPM. This reduction in power is noticeable in both horsepower and torque. By redesigning the air intake tract and producing a smoother, less turbulent air flow that smooths out the power band and reduces the effect of this dramatic drop.
The intake is a mandrel bent black powder coated aluminum tube, and is compatible with the factory air ducting for straightforward installation. The intake tube comes with a K&N filter that can be cleaned regularly. Further tailoring this intake for street use is the fact that it uses the factory mass air flow sensor wire harness location, so there isn’t any issue with a the factory computer throwing a check engine light code.
