This is one of the intake products we're most proud of, and it solves a real airflow problem hiding in plain sight on these trucks. When Chevy redesigned the [Silverado 1500](https://stillen.com/collections/intake/products/2019-2020-chevy-silverado-trupower-by-stillen-cold-air-intake-scoop-tp403501) intake system, they moved to pulling air in from the front of the vehicle. In practice, though, that air is picking up heat as it crosses the radiator, which typically runs around 200 degrees. So we opened up the intake scoop further, stripped out the lattice restriction entirely, and rerouted air to flow straight from the front grille into the scoop and directly into the engine, no detours, no extra heat soak. On the [Silverado 1500](https://stillen.com/collections/intake/products/2019-2020-chevy-silverado-trupower-by-stillen-cold-air-intake-scoop-tp403501) and [Sierra 1500](https://stillen.com/collections/intake/products/2019-2022-gmc-sierra-1500-trupower-by-stillen-cold-air-intake-scoop-tp403503), we were also able to lower the bottom edge of the scoop to pull in an even larger volume of air. The 2500 and 3500 trucks don't get that same treatment, since a transmission cooler runs along that lower edge and limits how far we can open things up. Even with that constraint, we found that the factory 2500/3500 intake scoop was only using about half of its available opening. The rest of the panel was completely blocked off, choking airflow and adding restriction the engine didn't need.
